About Sim Local

Sim Local is an entrepreneurial company which creates problem-solving travel technology brands. We are the global leader in travel SIM card and eSIM retail. SIM Local is one of the world’s largest mobile connectivity providers in the travel sector with offices in Dublin, London and New York.

The Role

We are looking for an experienced, strategic, and data-driven Content Strategist to lead and elevate Sim Local’s content across all customer touchpoints. This is a high-impact role that requires a seasoned storyteller who can balance creativity with commercial thinking and guide the entire content ecosystem — from strategy to execution.

You will be responsible for defining and delivering our content narrative, driving acquisition and retention through targeted messaging across web, CRM, blog, social, email, and more. This role also involves managing a network of freelancers, creators, and agency partners to ensure best-in-class output at scale.

Key Responsibilities

Content Strategy & Planning

  • Lead the development and execution of a multi-channel content strategy that aligns with brand positioning, seasonal campaigns, and growth goals.
  • Define and manage an editorial calendar that delivers against customer needs and business priorities.
  • Set quarterly and annual content KPIs and benchmarks to drive measurable success across engagement, conversion, and brand awareness.

Execution & Channel Management

  • Create or oversee content across a broad range of formats: website copy, blog articles, email and CRM, paid ads, push notifications, social media, and in-store communications.
  • Ensure all content is customer-focused, insight-driven, and optimised for SEO, ASO, and UX best practices.
  • Oversee the distribution and syndication of content to maximise reach and impact across owned and paid channels.

Leadership & Collaboration

  • Work cross-functionally with Marketing, Product, Design, Tech and CX teams to deliver content that enhances the full customer journey.
  • Act as a brand guardian — owning messaging guidelines and ensuring a consistent voice across all touchpoints.
  • Lead, brief, and manage a network of agencies, freelance writers, content creators, and localisation partners to deliver high-quality content at speed and scale.

Analytics & Optimisation

  • Monitor content performance using GA4, Hotjar, Klaviyo, Meta Ads Manager and CMS analytics.
  • Translate insights into actions: optimise content based on performance data, A/B test messaging, and continuously refine strategy for results.
  • Report regularly on content performance to stakeholders, demonstrating impact and opportunities.

About You

  • 6+ years’ experience in content strategy, content marketing, or editorial leadership roles — ideally in a high-growth eCommerce, digital-first or omnichannel environment.
  • Proven ability to lead data-driven, customer-focused content strategies that drive growth, engagement, and conversion.
  • Strong storytelling and copywriting skills, with a sharp eye for brand tone, structure, and clarity.
  • Enjoys working cross-functionally with marketing, UX, instore and development teams.
  • Deep understanding of SEO, CRM communications, UX content, and multichannel marketing.
  • Proven success leading remote teams of freelancers, content creators, and/or agencies.
  • Comfortable juggling long-term strategic planning with hands-on execution.
  • Commercially minded, curious, and deeply collaborative.
  • Fluent in CMS platforms, analytics tools (GA4, Hotjar), email platforms (e.g. Klaviyo), and project/campaign planning tools.
